Writing or Translation Application Criteria and Process
How to Submit an Article Proposal?

The Analytic is a meeting place open to anyone who wants to delve into the depths of philosophy together. Our goal is to discuss, debate, question, and bring together different perspectives. We particularly shed light on philosophy of science, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, logic, epistemology, and ontology. We prioritize building bridges between analytic and continental philosophy, and discussing the present and future of philosophy without ignoring its historical and social context.

If you would like to share your thoughts, write, or participate in discussions, The Analytic keeps its doors wide open.

How to Submit a Translation or Translation Proposal?

At The Analytic, we believe that translations from different languages not only bring new ideas to Turkish but also strengthen international dialogue. If you'd like to translate a text that fits our framework, or if you'd like to contribute to one of our planned translations, please feel free to contact us.

What Should Articles Be Like for The Analytic?

The articles published in The Analytic aim to address current debates and fundamental issues in philosophy from an interdisciplinary perspective whenever possible. Our articles are primarily aimed at researchers working in or interested in philosophy of science, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, logic, epistemology, and ontology; however, they are also written in a language and style that is accessible to curious readers outside of academia.

Within this framework, we evaluate writings in two basic categories. The first is informational communication: clearly conveying important debates, theories, and ideas in the literature and making them understandable to the reader. The second is original contribution: developing a new argument or perspective, whether critical or constructive, to an ongoing debate.

We don't set a fixed word limit for either category. However, while articles focused on conveying knowledge generally run between 1,500 and 3,000 words, original contributions can be shorter or longer depending on the author's topic and approach. If the text is too long to be published all at once, serializing it in several parts is also an option.

Who Can Write?

We value contributions from anyone with practical knowledge, professional experience, or a unique perspective in their field. We particularly encourage young researchers and emerging scholars to contact us with original and exciting ideas. We are also open to writers and translators from outside academia, from diverse professional backgrounds, or from diverse backgrounds and ages. What truly matters to us is that the text aligns with The Analytic's focus and contributes to philosophical discussions.

Editing Process

At The Analytic, articles and translations undergo a rigorous editorial process. We don't just publish texts; we work with authors and translators to refine them. This process often takes several weeks, and some manuscripts may require multiple consultations.

In some cases, we offer detailed feedback to improve the text; once the author or translator has made or approved the edits, we proceed to publication. If a manuscript or translation is deemed unsuitable for publication, we constructively share our reasons and, if possible, offer suggestions for further work.

Our aim is not only to publish articles, but to make it possible to think, produce and strengthen philosophical dialogue together.

Payment Process

At The Analytic, we strive to maximize the value of our writers and translators' work. Our goal is to make publishing at The Analytic not only a productive resource but also a source of support and solidarity for students and researchers working in these fields. In this context, we offer payments of 650 TL for articles up to 3,000 words, 1,000 TL for articles between 3,000 and 5,000 words, and 2,000 TL for texts longer than 5,000 words. We also provide the relevant contract for articles and translations accepted for publication.

A Successful Text

The paper should present its main argument in a clear, assertive and philosophically consistent manner.

· It should be clearly stated why the topic is important; the position of the article within philosophy and related literature should be clearly stated.

Relevant sources and references should be cited.

· It should adopt an interdisciplinary approach whenever possible and should appeal to the broader philosophical community, not just a narrow subfield.

· It shouldn't be too "simple"; our main target audience is readers who are already acquainted with philosophy and are familiar with the field at some level.

· It should be sophisticated in its arguments, but not overly technical. Notation and formalism should be either absent or used only to a very limited extent.
