Event Organization and Application Criteria

How to Organize an Event?

The Analytic is an independent discussion and sharing platform focusing on the core areas of contemporary philosophy. We focus on topics such as metaphilosophy, philosophy of science, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, logic, (formal) epistemology, and (formal) ontology, aiming to bridge the gap between academia and the public in these areas. We come together not just to listen to conversations, but to think, discuss, and create philosophy together.

If you'd like to organize an event under The Analytic, or contribute as a speaker or organizer, please contact us with a short proposal outlining your idea, its core purpose, and its content in a few paragraphs. Our editorial team will evaluate your proposal based on its relevance to The Analytic's goals and principles and will contact you regarding the appropriate format, date, and technical requirements.

What Kind of Events?

The Analytic is a platform open to the exchange of ideas and discussion in various formats. We are happy to consider the following event proposals:

Academic seminars

· Speeches and interviews

· Workshops

· Book or article reading groups

Educational or promotional presentations

Conceptual or thematic activity series

Interdisciplinary discussions that bring together different schools of philosophy

We can plan together the type, duration and target audience of the event you propose.

Events can be free or charge a fee, depending on their format and target audience. For paid events, it's our natural principle to share the proceeds with the speaker and/or organizer.

What Kind of Content Can Events Include?

The Analytic events can be organized in different content and formats as long as they align with the following themes:

· Philosophy of science, language, mind; current theoretical debates in metaphilosophy, logic, epistemology and ontology

· Comparative studies that bridge or bridge analytical, continental, and pragmatist traditions

· Book/article reading groups, method workshops, conceptual panels

Informative and inclusive sessions that also appeal to participants from outside the academy

Events can take place online or in person (e.g., based in Istanbul). The language can be Turkish or English.

Suggested activity:

· Establishing direct or indirect relations with the main fields of philosophy,

· Presents the topic in a clear and discussion-inviting manner,

· Include an interdisciplinary and inter-school perspective as much as possible,

· Adopting a language that can reach a broader intellectual public while maintaining academic rigor,

In addition to conveying information, it is important to open space for critical dialogue and participatory interaction.

Who can organize an event?

Academics, researchers, undergraduate or graduate students, independent thinkers, or anyone with a background in philosophy can propose events within The Analytic. We particularly invite young academics and emerging researchers to contribute their original ideas. Event proposals are welcome not only from professional philosophers, but also from anyone who regularly engages with philosophy, wants to share their knowledge, and has questions that provoke discussion. Our priority is that the event content aligns with The Analytic's core framework: science, language, philosophy of mind, logic, epistemology, ontology, and dialogue between different schools of thought.

Additionally, you can contact The Analytic for collaboration not only as an individual but also as a community, NGO, company, university or high school club.

How Does the Event Process Work?

If your application is approved, we will collaborate with you to determine the appropriate date and technical planning and schedule the event. The Analytic events can be recorded, announced on social media, and archived for future reference. Depending on the type of event, we also provide support such as posters, preliminary information, or registration forms.

Useful Points to Know Before Submitting a Proposal

· The event is expected to be relevant to The Analytic's interests.

A narrative style that has academic depth but is accessible, descriptive and open to discussion is preferred.

· Since the audience may have different levels of familiarity, the content should be designed to take this diversity into account.

Before sharing your event proposal, you can contact us and exchange ideas on format, technical needs, and content scope.

Application Process

To submit an event proposal, you can send a short email to contact.theanalytic@gmail.com with the following information:

· Event title

· Brief description of the event (purpose, content, target audience, etc.)

· Proposed date or date range

· Event format (online/face-to-face, seminar/workshop, paid/free, etc.)

· A brief introduction and/or CV of the person(s) who will organize the event

After receiving your application, we evaluate your proposal and contact you. Together, we plan the event format, technical infrastructure, announcement process, and participant access.

Even if you're still in the idea phase, you can contact us. We can discuss your event's suitability for The Analytic and shape the content together.
